Thunder that sings to a blank sky
Covers that pull over wide eyes
Dead coals that give off smoke
Lover i think something’s burning
The ocean takes shelter on dry land
Commotion in need of a warm hand
Forbidden fruit taking root
Lover could something be turning
Oh pretty darling, it’s just a matter of time
The trees are aligned and they’re showing the way
Deeper and deeper and deeper they say
Beauty, bliss, unconsciousness
I took a drink from the glycerine sky
Fed on the fever of crystalline tides
A lock to a key, the last leaf on the tree
Lover there’s someone deserving
Oh pretty darling, it’s just a matter of time
‘Til we all go falling down to the other side
Underneath my well-thought-out disguise
My lungs are two jars of fireflies
It keeps me alive
Puts sting in my stride
You cut me deep with your razor wire legs
Into my chest where you laid your eggs
It makes my heart beat
Keeps me on my feet
Wakes me from sleep
My carnivorous creep
Lover is something concerning?
Oh pretty darling, it’s just a matter of time
‘Til we all go falling down to the other side
So let’s get together
Let’s go on down the track
You can bring anything
You can wear anything
Anything, as long as it’s black

It's been a really long time since I've been that impressed by songwriting so creative and smart, plus the courage in displaying such vulnerability, and touched by the sheer beauty of the music, all at the same time. (I'm usually not a fan of digital only music purchases, but just had to make an exception here, after having the pleasure of experiencing a live gig by the wonderful Lucy, and buying the followup album on CD there - also heavily recommended!) mawit

Well... Like some people here, I never really liked that song! However, this is *so* much better than the original, for all the reasons already listed by deluded_marxist! The depth of feelings here, especially from the vocals but also the slow music, really is on a whole other level! Thanks to Tara Tantrum for taking me here! Highly recommended!!! bmurator
